Quick report
Sun and inverted temperatures heated up the new snow toady, providing some "hot pow" riding conditions in the sun. Roller balls were coming off our turns and some point releases in Avalanche Canyon were visible on southerly aspects near rock bands. Lower elevations and in the shade kept the snow density lighter.
Snowpack
At 9000' we found the Christmas crust about 30cm below the surface and felt the December 10th crust 120cm below the surface. Stability test at this location provided ECTX. The most recent rain crust is about 3cm thick, with F snow above it and 4F snow below, transitioning to 1F.

A crown was visible on the north side of Buck Mountain. There was connectivity from the edge of Buck Shot across the north face at that elevation for about 1000'. This was roughly at 10,000'.
