Quick report
No glaring signs of instability. The wind eroded surface could eventually become a bed surface for future avalanches, however. None

Clear day sitting right around 0 deg. F on the ridgeline. SW winds ranging from 10-20mph up high, calming as I descended on the backside.
Snowpack
The winds have scoured the backside of Portneuf range after our lack of snow the last few days. A widespread and nasty punchable wind crust sitting on top of the snow we recently received could make for a bed surface for future avalanches. Something to look out for. Anything somewhat N facing has better snow quality, but may harbor small slabs from the southerly winds we experienced, though nothing seemed reactive. Overall, very poor skiing but high stability for now.
