Skinned up to the summit of Taylor via the south ridge on Christmas eve. About 5 inches of new snow had fallen overnight. In the lower elevation there were stout melt/freeze crusts on southerly aspects from the warmth on 23rd. High easterly winds in the upper elevation were rapidly transporting the new snow from the day before and creating wind slabs on the upper west face and along the ridge line about 4-6 inches deep by 12:45ish. These shallow slabs were low energy, did not travel more than 10 ft but easily triggered w ski cuts on 30-35° slope w noticeable cracking before release and on soft bed surfaces
