My best estimate is that this avalanche ran during the early AM hours of 11/27. There was about 6" of new snow on the bed surface of the avalanche. Google Earth measures the crown width at over 4,000ft, spanning multiple aspects from NE to E to SE. The length of the avalanche was around 3,000ft, as it ran from a starting elevation of 12,300ft down to 10,900ft. A quick observation on the SE portion of the crown looked like the avalanche failed by collapsing a thin crust capping 5cm of soft and lightly faceted snow. That snow accumulated last Sunday before being buried on Tuesday, 11/26. Here, the crown was 70cm thick with a total HS of 110cm.
