We got several whumphs on the south face of Hale Bopp where the new snow had been blown into soft slabs that had been affected by the sun. We also observed an avalanche that fractured, propagated but did not slide on the south face. This was also about 6” deep. Surfaces stayed cool enough for safe travel thru out the day.
Avalanche
We saw several wet slabs about 6” deep on South aspects of tenderfoot and hale bopp. We also observed a wet slab on ravens ridge on a W aspect. Wet loose was prevalent on rocky sections even on north facing terrain. All of these slides were in the 3000-4000 ft elevation bands.
