Quick Observation

Skied in Connaught Creek for the past couple days. Sunday's inversion has resulted in natural activity up to size 2 on steel solars, particularly near rocky features. East facing still had dry powder but be careful as there is definitely a couple sharkies. On Monday, we headed up Hospital Bowl and Video Peak was quite the sight with 25 tracks on the east face and 15 on the south east. We headed up the steep and glazed skin track to its Summit anyway. To our surprise, there was not a single track down the north chute. Settled stable powder with some sluffing made for an amazing run. We headed up the Bruins Glacier towards Ursus Major and had 150cm HS near the toe, 120cm in one of the more exposed location and 250cm below the north face of Ursus Major. Conditions on Ursus Major looked promising from below but the forecast was right as we encountered pencil wind slabs over stellars on crossloaded features and called it a day before traversing over the cliffs. We traversed back to Bruins Pass where we skied as far skiers right as possible the whole way down 8812 Bowl as the rest was quite crusty. The ski out is fast and packed with minimal rocks showing.
