Quick report

We toured into Huntington Ravine, reaching the floor around 9:30am. Our plan was to ascend as high as we felt comfortable on the fan. Upon reaching the floor of the ravine, we noted strong winds, with variable direction, and high amounts of blowing snow, in all directions. The wind and blowing snow, with potential to build slabs all across the terrain due to the variable direction, plus the amount of new snow on the ground, plus very poor visibility, we’re all the red flags we needed to see, and we decided not to thread the needle. We made the easy decision to turn around and ski down the fire road to the Sherb.
