Quick report
I hiked to Connection Cache to get eyes on terrain in the Ravine, arriving approximately 0815. Beyond being quite cold and windy, snow was being transported at the top of the ravine, most evident above Sluice and above Hillman’s. There are sizable wind slabs forming throughout the terrain, most notable at the bottom of Chute. I didn’t venture close enough to check how firm the slabs are or how well bonded they are to the Dec11 rain crust.
Avalanche
The slide path from yesterday’s skier-triggered avalanche is still visible in Left Gully below the choke. The rain crust is very visible in contrast to the white freshly drifted snow.
