Quick report
Short afternoon ski to the Fielding Patrol Cabin for a welfare check and to stock some supplies/check inventory. On my return drive to West Glacier I noticed a recent slide of sorts on Snowshed Mountain. Had to double back to get a second look and a quick photo. Snagged one sub par picture. Didn’t find anywhere safe pull over to get binoculars on it. Unfortunately there wasn’t a great shoulder to pull into nearby and the highway was a little busy. Seems likely that it’s more glide action, but also might be a large wind slab? Hard to say definitively with the poor image. Occurred near 7000’ on an ESE slope of Snowshed Mountain. A few hundred feet below peak 7460’ above Sheep Creek.
