Initial observations in our snow pit were centered around the 30cm of new snow resting on a weak, sugary layer. ECT was performed on NE aspect around 7200ft which resulted in an ECTP13. Failure occurred at the new | old snow convergence roughly 30cm down. During our ascent we noticed frequent collapsing above 6000ft. We had several occurrences of cracking which ran about 20ft. No signs of recent avalanches were found.
