Quick report
Our observations today agreed with the day's forecasted danger. We found 25cm of cohesionless dry surface snow primed for loose dry activity on a knife hard crust. Winds were very calm, temps were cool, and the sky was mostly cloudy, so we believe this problem will persist on all aspects at middle elevations and upper elevations into tomorrow. The mid-pack appeared very strong as a result of the big warm up earlier this month. We noticed some weak grains in lower 32cm of the pack, but we did not observe any results in the lower pack during our stability test. We conducted 3 stability tests at our pit site. (6510' sheltered north facing) • CT17 @ 136 (Q2- Resistant Planar) •ECTX •ECTP23 @ 130 Pit profile attached. 25cm of recent snow is still mostly cohesionless in sheltered terrain, with a supportable knife hard crust beneath. Loose dry problem evident on steep slopes.

Snowpack
We were curious today to see if the recent snow is gaining cohesion, and if we could identify any old persistent weak layers on a sheltered northerly aspect. We selected a NE facing site @ 6510'. • Upper Pack: 25cm cohesionless dry snow resting on a 10cm thick knife hard crust. Recent snow capped by small surface hoar. • Mid Pack: Strong. 68cm of 1Finger to Pencil Hard snow. Relatively homogenous. Rounded Grains. • Lower Pack: 4Finger to 1Finger rounding facets. 3mm facets @32cm interface. • Layer of greatest concern: A thin layer within the middle of the 2/8 knife hard crust. ECTP23 @ 130cm
