Quick report
Sunshine, no wind, minimal sluffing. We weren’t on the S side long enough to observe how much warming occurred or see much shedding happen, though there’s not much snow left in trees to shed. ECTP 24, breaking 85cm down on basal facets at the base of the snowpack, at 6200’ on a N aspect. We observed no signs of instability outside of our pit.

Snowpack
Solar aspects were getting sun again today and were variable, with crust transitioning to wet and heavy, causing some mild glopping. The N aspect we skied had 20cm lighter density fun fluffy snow on a stout crust. Digging into the snow we found about 15cm crust below the newer dry snow, and below that the snow was pretty wet and consolidated, good snowman making snow (maybe isothermic still?) before the junky basal facets at the ground. HS was 105-130 above 6000’ in the areas we probed (all N facing). Lower elevations the snow depth seems to decline rapidly. We were surprised by how much bare ground we observed on S aspects.
