Headed up Bonkers this morning and dug a quick pit at 10k. Amazing to get into alpine terrain before Thanksgiving.
There was some small avalanche activity off the upper rock slabs and refrozen minor wet debris in the one spot where it turned south facing. 70 cm snow depth. 15 cm pencil windslab on top, 4 finger all the way down except for 5 cm of 1 finger at 25-30 cm above ground shown in 2nd to last photo.
Delectable icy hop turns on somewhat supportable windcrust kept the core shots in check during the descent.
