Quick report
We choose to ascend and descend the lower Python Buttress. On the way up, we identified the 3/16 BSH down ~35cm with Q2 hand shears. We dug at 3200' on a northwest aspect. We had ECTX twice. Our CT went beyond standard hits, but with pounding it popped out on the old BSH with shear quality 2. We conducted a PST with no propagation. We could see the old surface hoar was rounding and bonding with layers above and below. We observed variable surface conditions including suncrust to 3cm, small SH, rimed platelets, and NSF to 1.5mm. Around 3pm we turned around at 3650' and at that time, there was localized wind transport and flagging near Python Peak. We happily sniffed out some soft turns.
