North Aspect Heney Peak

Quick report

Observed a large slab avalanche on the north aspect of Heney Peak. Observed from town, not while recreating. Presumed to have failed on basal facets that formed in early January during a period of shallow snowpack and cold air temps. A storm recently passed Cordova that produced heavy rain and wind, and warm temperatures.

Seen while doing errands in town. Presumed to have occurred during heavy rain and wind the previous day. Crown appears to be up to a couple of feet high and about 1,500 feet wide.
