Quick report

It's been snowing all day with no sign of letting up today. Winds in the south have not been strong but still enough to move snow as it falls. Keep an eye on what this new snow does as it hopefully settles before the weekend, but if winds pick up, there's plenty of snow available for transport.

Snowpack

On this face there is typical wind effect. Where we were able to access, there was a solid wind board about 60cm down. It will be hard to affect the persistent weak layer below this, but still could be triggered from a shallow/soft point. The wind board is easily ID'd with a probe or ski pole. I would need to be confident the whole face I was skiing or riding had this setup before I took persistent weak layer out of my top two avalanche problems.
