Quick report
- Collapsing
- isolated
A fairly typical interior January snowpack: highly variable. Wind-loaded slopes with more sheltered areas holding nice soft snow. Upper ridges were mostly blown clean of snow and I would expect a fairly widespread persistent wind-slab problem. Some isolated whumphing/collapsing as I moved through some of the flatter areas.

Snowpack
Wind-slabs lurking beneath new storm snow. Mainly observed on south/south-east facing slopes, slabs were present and somewhat stubborn in snowpack tests. Dug two pits and found similar snowpack tests (CT23 SC, ECTP15, CT18 PC, ECTP25) at a weak layer 40-60cm deep beneath an older wind-slab. New snow of about 15cm. See attached snow profiles for more detail.
