Nick's

Snow surface conditions are a patchwork of firm wind board and an unsupportable/breakable rain crust below 3000'. A light dusting of new snow overnight makes it all the more challenging to decipher the surface conditions while skiing or riding. The snowpack was found to be a little deeper (115cms) in Nicks Valley. Faceting is still occuring throughout the snowpack but is much less developed compared to areas with a thinner snowpack.

Old wind slab on top of a rain crust with facets below caused a collapse around 2500 ft. This layer is not yet a concern as it does not have a sufficient load on top of, but will likely cause instabilities once a significant loading event occurs.
