Wind Loading

High winds from the west on Raymond this morning. Mill A basin provided surprisingly little protection from the wind. We noted obvious wind pillows on the ridge, and some new cornice kicks showed snow running quite fast. We didn't experience any cracking in the snow but we avoided true summits and maximum wind loading.

Visibility was quite low but was better in north facing sheltered terrain. On the steepest terrain we skied, around 38 degrees, the new snow completely sloughed away from the first skier, leaving the second skier with a crusty surprise.

Very good riding conditions overall! Video shows ~33 degree slope with slough.
