Instability Comment

On the backside of Cardiff pass, (NE aspect) we were able to find the ever-common square facets just under the surface. These did not show any signs of rounding at this location but because of the dismal snowpack and lack of wind loading, we saw no action. However, later we dug a pit in the south side of the pass for practice and found old facets in a shady area that had rounded. In this pit, we also found a melt-freeze crust that failed on CT26 and ECTP22. Not really valuable in today's standings however still interesting to look at.
