We toured north along the PC ridgeline exiting North of Sound of Music. Dug a pit at 9400 foot level East/NE facing in Moon Rocks. Suprised the snowpack was so thin where I dug, expecting more wind deposition and storm snow just off the ridgeline. Basal facets are healing and in this location, pencil hard with the facets on top healing. My extended column test produced a stubborn low-reaction failure at about 26 hard shovel slams with no propogation. We did not ski this steep line with the still-shallow pack as it is still susceptible to a trigger near any unseen weak spot. Nice day out in the Wasatch...
