- <p>Went up the drainage and saw two pronounced avalanche crowns. One, northeast-facing at 8,900 feet, was fairly recent. The second, north facing at the same elevation, about a quarter mile further up the drainage, looked like it was more than two or three days old. Both had plentiful snowmobile tracks under them. They might have been triggered remotely from road cuts below. </p>

Snowpack
In the Boulger Reservoir area. About 1,000 feet lower than yesterday's Big Drift outing, and far different conditions today. Completely saturated and breakable top layer. Evidence of sleds breaking through yesterday. Poles punching deep into the snow. Took a few steps out on the snow when we arrived to assess the snow and quickly sunk mid-thigh.
