Quick report
6500’ East Aspect 28 degrees Snow staying “dry” at the top of runs (6500’) Wetter but still available for transport at the bottom of bowl (5300’). Observed few small point releases running from the rocks and steepest points halfway down the East Bowl. Didn’t run very far and didn’t trigger any slabs. Light wind with moderate gusts in the sheltered center of the East Bowl. Moderate wind with strong gusts out of the SW in lower open burns and ridge tops. Skin track filled in within 1.5hr. Definitely lots of snow transporting and loading off ridge lines and in exposed areas. Dug a pit at the top of the East Bowl. 135cm of settled new snow since crust layer from March 11th. New storm snow 25cm CT 27 Progressive Compression 55 CM down with a Q 3 shear ECTX Observed no propagation or collapse in test. Snowpack was right side up and I observed no shooting cracks or collapsing while riding or hiking but I avoided wind loaded areas.
