Quick report
We adventured up the Fireman's route to Lost Lake trying to learn more about the snowpack in Lost Lake and to see how much new snow had fallen. The trail was mostly snow free to 1000'. Around 1200' snow became more consistent in meadows. Creeks were still open. We dug a pit at 1700' on a southeast slope. There was a total of 4.5' of snow (150cm). There were no concerning results in our pit. The snow was mostly moist with a thick layer of frozen snow in the lower half of the snowpack. Around 2" of snow was sitting on top of a crust. Below that we found moist surface hoar grains and a layer of facets. With the amount of water in the snow the most concerning layer at this elevation will likely be where a wind slab is sitting over surface hoar that is more intact.

Cloudy skies, light winds and light snowfall all day. Light rain below 1000'. Snow was accumulating above 1200'.
Snowpack
No concerning results in our pit. The buried surface hoar and facets were moist and will likely gain strength at similar elevations where there the snow is wet.
