Quick report
We traveled up Rock Creek on generally east to south-facing terrain. Turned around at 10,300' and egressed via the same route. Northerly aspects are faceting and becoming weaker. Southerly aspects are beginning to melt out. We expect this to continue through the week.

Warm temperatures dominated today. Winds were mostly calm with light gusts out of the south. Sky cover was clear. No blowing snow observed.
Snowpack
Our snowpack is taking a beating this week.
-Southerly aspects near and below treeline are seeing significant settlement. The height of snow ranged from 0-20cm and was moist top to bottom.
-Northerly aspects are staying colder. Faceting is occurring and weakening the snowpack. The height of snow was 30-40cm. North-facing aspects around 10,300' were dry.
While people are having some great turns in portions of the zone, not all trailheads are created equal. The Rock Creek drainage, especially. The road is currently closed at the winter gate and we walked up the road for the first mile. A razor scooter or moped would help. We turned around early because a lack of coverage made traveling through talus debatably worthwhile.
