Quick report
Wanted to check out Picture Couloir today and get a sense of approach/coverage out of Sabrina Lake. Approach had inconsistent coverage; north facing slopes were holding snow well down to 9600 feet, but following the summer trail involved lots of skis on/skis off until just past Blue Lake. Snow on all but the most N-facing protected aspects was breakable crust, penetrating about ~6 inches when booting. Skinning was easy enough. Hungry Packer lake still frozen solid. I made the decision to skip Picture Couloir and opted for a N-facing line lookers left of the peak. Found some surprisingly protected snow in the guts of the chute. Quality turns were had.
