Quick report
I was surprised by just how wet the snow was on north facing aspects at about 9400 feet in the ghost trees. Lots of rollerballs and pinwheels. Skin track even collapsed in places. We stuck to low angle riding but snow was heavy and sticky.
Avalanche
We saw several wet loose avalanches underneath the negatives cirque while touring in the June lake backcountry. I think the slides probably occurred yesterday (just my guess). I also encountered signs of unstable wet snow in the ghost trees area around 1pm today. The skin track gave out under my downhill ski and a roughly 4 foot wide section of snow slid about 5-10 feet downslope. I also saw lots of pinwheels and rollerballs in the ghost trees and hemlock trees area.
