Onion valley

Road is drivable to 1/2 mile from trailhead. Went up Robinson drainage. Found old avalanche deposits that ran down just East of the campground. Snowpack is 1-3' at 9k, 2-4' at 11.5k. Bottom 2' of snowpack is faceted, top 2 -6" is knife to fist hard cross loaded, some pockets of winter snow. This was observed at all aspects and elevations traveled except above treeline. Above treeline was heavily wind affected and firm.
