Found some amazing riding in the Moose Lake area today. HS 130 - 160cm, faceted to 60cm+, storm snow interface approx. 30cm deep is visible but not producing any results in compression test. Mid-pack is supportive, 10-15cm ski pen.
Observed several point release loose dry avalanches on solar alpine, south facing aspects on the range above Moose Lake (road side)
The warmer temperatures made for the perfect conditions to spend time slogging uphill in the shade.
Compression test produced no results - facets crumbled. 30cm past storm interface layer, 4 finger hardness. Faceted pack above and below fist hardness. Around 80cm seeing stronger pack of 4 fingers again.
