Small pocket of windslab on a sparsely treed, planar slope likely released on preserved surface hoar/facet layer (a whumpf was heard just prior). Size 1 slide, not much momentum but enough mass to push one skier off their feet and result in a lost ski. Uncertain about start zone propagation width, likely around 4 m at crown and ran for approx.12 m. No injuries occurred and skier was able to continue down minus one ski. If you see a lone purple ski in the area, much gratitude would given for its recovery.
