2 significant recent avalanches observed while traveling West between Kaslo and New Denver today Thursday Feb 11. Sorry no photos, too far away. Not sure if they were natural or triggered by skiers, but likely to be skier triggered by group traveling along ridge top. East facing alpine 40 deg, both fracture lines close to each others, just below ridge top, 60-80 deep, 100m wide, one just below a cornice, didn't see terminus. 4-5 fresh ski tracks a few hundred meters away on same aspect, but slope skied not quite as steep or planar as the one the avalanches ran on. So watch out for steep alpine features exposed to wind loading!
