Quick Observation

We left the pouring rain in Fernie to be greeted by snow at 1900m. The snow was moist enough to form snowballs until about 2200m and then wind affected above that. Travel was easy with a sled and foot pen of 20cm. The winds were moderate out of the south west to north west today. The new snow amounted to about 5 cm by the time we left. We dug a profile to check on last week storm storm, it has settled to about 80cm and appears to be bonding well with the snow below. As we arrived back to the truck the rain had started falling and steadily increased in intensity as we drove west.
