Type

quick

Coordinates

50.443060, -115.773350

Quick Observation

We did only one run because of the cold

Avalanche Information

When snowboarding through the trees, we came across a steep and fairly open slope and we couldn't find a way around. We tried to find a safe way down. My partner went first without any results, when I went i triggered a very small avalanche like size 0.5-1. Only carried me for 30 feet then I managed to stand up and move out of the way. The snow was shallow in this spot and went to the ground on the lower section.

Weather

It was cold (I didn't mean to press rainfall)

Snowpack

Tree line snowdepth is 80-90cm We did a compression test at the top of our line. Sudden planar fracture 35cm down after 5 taps. The column was 75cm deep. We stuck to the trees, but we ran in to a steep slope in the trees and caused a small avalanche.
