Skiing solo today, checking out a new area in an effort to avoid the crowds. Triggered this in an area with a super solid crust. I was skinning up, then switched to booting right before the top because the snow was too hard to hold an edge. Snow was solid for booting, then one step I sunk in and the next thing I knew the snow was sliding down around me. I was about 10 feet below the top of the slide and was able to stay on top. Got carried about 30ft. Slide ran about 60ft totalbefore stopping where the slope got shallower. The slide ran on at the ground. Crown was 3-4ft in the center and 6in at the edge. I had felt alright going up this slope because the snow was so hard and wind eroded. I suspect that my foot punched through over a bush, which was enough to trigger the whole slope.
