Quick Observation

High alpine winds in the morning (mountain peaks had huge plumes of snow blowing off them) from the SW. Dying down a bit in the afternoon. Nearly no naturals observed though (one small sluff on a steep cross loaded slope). We skied a 200m tall ne aspect slope with max elevation that was slightly sheltered from the worst winds. We found great powder on this slope, but the top 10-20cm was reactive to ski cutting on steeper, unsupported terrain. Ski cuts yielded a size 1 and a size 2 avalanches, that did not step down to deeper layers.
