The general Westerly flow as of late, has scoured a lot of the terrain, but left East facing slopes and pockets, heavily loaded. A number of natural avalanches were noted along Route 431, on E-N aspects, up to size 2. The most recent rain crust, where exposed, made for icy travel, and unpleasant turns. Found good bonding b/t the most recent rain crust, and the new snow that has fallen in the last 48hrs. Our uncertainty is high however, as we did have variable snowpack conditions in each pit.
