Quick Observation

Surprising little avalanche activity today inspite of the intense sun. A skier yesterday triggered a small (0.5) wet loose on a very steep sheltered burnt timber south aspect across from us at 1800m. We skied a NW avalanche path. Weird down slope winds produced stiff snow with a wind skim down the path. We didn't get what we paid for... At ridge top we found some wet surface snow on a sheltered west aspect at 2250m. Less new snow here than the pulpits or kananaskis.
