Very large avalanche off the saddle just below the summit of Dalton Dome. Crown was visible and very clearly large from the park boundary on Brohm Ridge so guessing approx 5m deep. Slide split and ran both down North and West face of Dalton Dome. West face slid to ground with several secondary crowns at lower elevations. Debris all the way to cheekeye. Holy moly! Debris was not covered by any new snow so presumably slide since Thursday night (?) and appeared to be cornice trigger.
Also could see a clear large crown in Siberian express couloir on atwell presumably a similar event. Several other crowns visible throughout the park.
Snowpack
At TL, 5-10cm new snow over crust. Tapering very quickly. No snow below 1200m.
1900-2300m was 30-40cm new snow on a crust that progressively disappeared as we got higher.
Test pit at 2500m was 75cm +/ 4F-1F over 5cm / 4F on top of a very thin mfcr. CTM 17 and CTM20 RP down ~80 on thin crust.
