Quick Observation
Today we skied in Powder valley. The sled trail into the alpine has seen traffic lately and is nicely packed. There is still low coverage in the alpine with many early-season hazards. We skied in the Paddy Peak area and found some soft snow in sheltered north and east slopes. Most slopes were wind scoured with exposed rocks so we skied back down our skin track. Treeline was still holding non-wind effected powder snow that made for nice turns. We observed a size 2 wind slab avalanche on an east aspect that would have occurred in the previous 24-48 hours.
