Quick Observation

Do you like climbing over and under trees? Taking your skis off to walk up bare creek beds? Sporty skiing down around open holes? Well then Tennant lake is the place for you right now. We headed up towards Mt Myra today to get a view of the alpine and check on the wind effect in this area, what we saw instead caught us off guard. The warming that is happening right now is doing its work. We saw extensive loose wet avalanches coming off all the tree line and alpine slopes above us. This kept us from heading up to Myra. On our way down we also noted that crossing any side hill would result in a loose wet slide down to our most recent crust. We had a slight inversion with temperatures reaching 5 degrees! The skiing was sticky and slow in the wet snow.
