We went up the Mt Green access, with somehow mixed expectations. Going up the bassin, the snow quickly turned into a soft wind slab, but not terrible. 100m away from the boot pack to Ross pass, I got a tiny whumpf and a crack that propagated for about 2m after digging the tail of my ski in a switchback. Since we didn't expect any improvements higher up, we we simply made it to the beginning of the boot pack and skied down from there. Skiing was pretty good and felt creamy on the soft slab. We went towards Bonney moraines afterwards, but the wind effect was even worst as we got closer. Skiing down from the skier's left slide path to the brook was terrible.
