Hoshmier

High of -6c around 1800m elevation, broken clouds, 200cm snowpack, ski penetration of 30cms. Went for a ski tour and experienced much whumpfing, some shooting cracks, skier triggered remote size 1 slab avalanche from 50 meters away, good sking. Stayed on slopes below 31 degree angle. Extended column test propagated across the entire column on the 15th tap down 45 cms on stellar precipitation particles, I could not see the buried surface hoar but I suspect that it was here and I didn't look hard enough.
