Quick Observation

As we skinned up, we noticed some small Size 1 loose sluffs in an E facing bowl on lookers right. Snow quality improved considerably above 1900m. South slopes were quite wind affected, and wind had transported snow on more Easterly aspects.

Snowpack

We did a quick compression test, and had a CTM16 resistant planar 40cm down. But nothing else aside from that. We took a look at the crystals on the weak layer, and they appeared to be 1mm facets. Our snow analysis found well consolidated snow from the surface down 40cm, sitting on top of a very dense (pencil) layer for 20cm below that. And everything from there down was finger dense and appeared to be very cohesive.
