Avalanche Information
A handful of D2.5 to D3 avalanches ran from alpine start zones since Eric and I bino'd this terrain on Saturday: Axtell 6th Bowl, Peeler Peak, and Scarp Ridge x 2 (coded in Irwin's ob). I suspect they ran last night or today from windloading, though they could have run earlier from cornice falls or warming-related failures.
Weather
Clouds increased midday. Light to moderate flagging off alpine peaks from westerly winds. air temp (F): Mild; cloud cover: broken; wind loading: moderate; recent snowfall (cm): 0
Snowpack
Quiet underfoot while skinning and skiing until we went hunting for collapses with ski stabs and stomps. We produced five rumbling collapses on open, low-angle E to NE facing slopes. Slab is about 55 cm thick, and hard (1F) at the bottom.
