Top Hat Traverse

Beautiful day out on the Top Hat Traverse. Some rugged travel through the trees on bombproof ice, improving at treeline. Solar aspects still pretty solid underneath the fresh snow. Moderate gusts above Hamilton Lake giving variable amounts of new snow on the south face up to the col, expect some tougher travel if the wind continues. Multiple small dry loose releases in steep alpine start zones, running quite far but not entraining mass or stepping down, and rarely with a visible crown line. Amazing ski conditions on the north side, no slab properties in the knee deep fresh snow as yet, just some beautiful turns! There was a breakable crust towards the end, below 1900m, which made for some interesting skiing on the exit.
