Quick Observation

~19cm of cold, light powder made for some nice turns in the open trees. Under the canopy found crusty and crunchy skiing. started at about 1600m and got to just under 2200m with consistent cold temps and nice blue skies. Lots of bushwacking and traversing through benchy terrain.

Snowpack

A quick pit on a 28degree slope on the backside of Macpherson found 19cm of 4finger- new snow on top of a surface hoar layer with crystals 8-12mm in size. Under the SH is about 40 cm of 1finger snow with some density changes but no distinguishable layers. Finally, a meltfreeze crust is found under it all at 67cm down. 2x Shovel Tap Test gave an easy10 and mod11 SP result 19cm down on the surface hoar. No signs of wind effect in the near vicinity with calm winds all day. No signs of instability while skiing.
