Quick Observation
Weather
Valley ice fog was present between 1500 and 1900 m all day. Temperatures steadily rose throughout the day.
Snowpack
6 cm of new snow overlies previous wind slabs (1F to P, aspect dependent). Spotty preserved rimed precipitation particles (PPr, 2 mm) present below this slab (down 25-40 cm) and on top of 1F snow blow. Immediately above the ground, 10 cm of 4F to F (aspect dependent) facets (4 mm) are gaining strength. In deeper snowpack areas (HS 80 cm) we observed CTH (SC) results on the basal facets. In shallower areas, the results on the same layer were breaks. The preserved PPr,2 produced CTH (SP) results where present.
