Quick Observation
Nice skiing on E-SE facing slopes from 2300-1900m.
Avalanche Information
2x size 1-1.5 HST slabs, ~24 hours old, from steep, rocky terrain.
Weather
Light winds, clouds were thin and broken, snowing lightly at times in the afternoon (<1cm / hr).
Snowpack
Test profile at 2300m. CTE1 sudden collapse down 30 cm, failed on surface hoar and preserved stellars. Very soft slab above. The SH layer seems to exist predominately in North through East facing terrain. Noted some cracking on unsupported rolls, or when the slab was undercut. A sun crust exists on South facing terrain to treeline and possibly higher, up to 1cm thick, buried up to 30 cm.
