Today we skied Ashman and it was all time!
We had snow over the hoods of the sleds on the approach from 22 km, safe to say Tacoma driving season past this point is over.
Breaking trail up to the ridge we wallowed with 40-50cm of ski penetration and grew some serious icicles on the moustaches as the temps dropped to -17 at our pit location.
We found the Nov surface hoar layer down 100cm and got no results on this layer in our extended column test.
At ridge top we found the winds switching with the in coming arctic cold front and found wind slabs developing on the South aspect.
Our decent consisted of blower cold smoke from top to bottom and smiles all round.
