Coordinates

Quick Observation

Temps of -5 at road at 7:00am. Steady rise to +2 at 2200m by 9:30am. Surface snow had become moist prior to skiing out. It was definitely the day to get out early and be done early. Evidence of several loose wet avalanches to sz 1.5 and two notable persistent slab avalanches (sz 2.5?) in the area on S/SW aspects. Persistent slab avalanches likely triggered by cornice fall in areas with a shallow snowpack. Loose wet activity had begun on east facing slopes of Pulpit Peak around 10:00.

Weather

HS = 220; Weather data taken at 855 std.

Snowpack

Upper pack consists of several buried crust layers that are remaining strongly bonded to date; mid to bottom of pack well consolidated.
